James again, i know many networkers including myself have been influenced to join an MLM opportunity because of the “spillover”. It sounds so logical and by the numbers you can see that the sooner you joined that home business, the sooner you will have tons of money from others efforts. Well dear friend, don’t let “spillover” bowl you over.

In any mlm opportunity which claims that the faster you join the more “spillover” you’ll have is true but if you don’t pay attention to the pay plan, then you will find yourself losing money with people in your downline. Why is that possible. Many home business opportunities use a matrix as the center of their pay plan. This allows them to make claims that you will make thousands of dollars a month if you fill up your matrix that holds thousands of referrals. The sad fact is that in the network marketing industry, the average networker only sponsors 2.7 people. How could you and i without a list of 2 or 3 thousand people ever fill up a matrix with only a 1000 people.

Now with that in mind, an MLM opportunity may hype the “spillover” of referrals coming from your upline or your upline’s upline that you will assume you will make some money. But many MLM compensation plans are set up for the heavy hitters who bring 1000s of followers into the network marketing company and receive “FAT” bonus checks from the bonus pools plus fast start bonuses that you will never qualify for. So you got “spillover” but you didn’t get paid!
Well you may get paid but usually, it won’t cover your monthly auto-ship and you are in the hole from the get-go. You are going to have to bring a team or build a team of people you know, like and trust to ever make it in this the network marketing industry.
